Congratulatory Messages

My office is happy to organise congratulatory messages on behalf of residents of the Canberra electorate.

If you know an older Australian who has a special wedding anniversary or birthday coming up, I can organise for the Prime Minister of Australia to say congratulations. In some cases, the Governor-General and the Queen will send their best wishes too.

Who Qualifies

The Prime Minister and Governor-General send messages to couples celebrating their 50th and subsequent wedding anniversaries. The Queen sends her regards to those married for 60 years. She will write to the couple every five years after that upon request.

The Prime Minister also sends messages to Australians turning 90 years of age or more. A 100th birthday brings letter from the Governor-General and the Queen. The Governor-General will write again every year, while the Queen will write every five years thereafter on request.

Please contact my office no earlier than three months before the special event. At least two weeks notice is preferred so we can organise the messages. We will require to see either a copy of the birth or marriage certificate or a statutory declaration confirming the date of the special event.

Please contact my office on 6293 1344 or via the email link on this site to request a Congratulatory Messages form.
